Part 1 Registry Measurements

Part 1 registration is normally required by Finance Companies if a vessel is purchased by Marine Mortgage. The interest of the Finance Company can be noted against it, in the same way as a house mortgage is noted on the Land Registry.
We are able through the YDSA to undertake Tonnage Measurement of vessels up to 24m in length for the purposes of Part 1 British Registry. This also covers the Registry of Ships for the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Gibraltar.
During a tonnage survey a number of specific measurements are taken, the hull identity number (HIN) is confirmed, and the type of engines noted. For registration the vessel can be afloat.
